Questions, answered

The things hosts ask most. Still stuck? The getting-started guide walks you through it step by step.

Getting started

  • What is LimeMoment?
It's the digital home for your event. One link holds your invitation, the details, RSVPs, gifts, photos and more. It suits a family marking a birthday or a wedding just as well as a planner, a church or a business.
  • How quickly can I make one?
Minutes. Describe your moment in a sentence and we draft the title, date, venue and a matching design for you to tweak. Then add the sections you want and share the link.
  • Do my guests need an account?
No. Guests open your link, RSVP, leave a message or send a gift without signing up for anything. Only you, the host, have an account.
  • Can I change things after I share it?
Yes, any time. Edit the details, add sections, change the design or the privacy setting whenever you like. Guests always see the latest version.

Plans and payment

  • Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Spark plan is free and covers a real event, with RSVPs, a gallery, gifts and more. Paid plans are one-off payments per moment that unlock extras like the time capsule, AI features, seating and a custom domain.
  • Are the paid plans a subscription?
For a single event, no. Glow, Shine and Signature are one-off payments for that moment. The Agency plan is a monthly subscription for planners running many events. See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
  • Can I upgrade later?
Yes. Start on the free plan and upgrade a moment whenever you need a feature from a higher plan. Your content stays exactly as it is.
  • What does it cost guests?
Nothing to RSVP or take part. If a guest chooses to send a gift or donation, only the amount they give is charged, through secure Stripe checkout.

Guests and RSVPs

  • Can I ask for meal choices and dietary needs?
Yes. Turn on meal choices, dietary needs, access needs and your own custom questions. You decide how much or how little to ask.
  • Can guests bring a plus-one or children?
Yes. Guests can say how many are coming, including children with age bands if you ask for them, and it all counts towards your headcount.
  • Can I chase people who haven't replied?
Yes. Send a gentle reminder to everyone still to reply, and set an optional reply-by date that shows on the page and counts down.
  • Can I see who is coming?
Yes. Your dashboard shows every response, a headcount and a guest list you can download as a spreadsheet.
  • Can I bring a guest list from another platform or a spreadsheet?
Yes, replies and all. Download the template, paste your list in (up to 1,000 guests) and any RSVPs you've already collected carry over: a "yes" from your old platform counts in your headcount straight away. Every imported guest still gets their own personal link and QR pass, and guests who already said yes aren't chased by reminders.
  • Can I see how my guests know me?
Yes. The RSVP form asks each guest how they know you (family, church, school, work and so on) and your dashboard shows the breakdown at a glance, like 24 family, 18 church, 12 work. It even powers one-tap seating: seat everyone from church together at a table in a single click.
  • Can guests share that they're coming?
Yes, and they love to. Every attending guest gets a personal "I'm attending" badge, a beautiful image with your event name and date, ready to share on WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram. It's a lovely way for the excitement to spread before the day.
  • Can I do something special for VIP guests?
Yes. Mark a guest as VIP and their welcome turns gold, with a starred badge. You can also write a private note that only they see when they open their invite, like asking Dad to say a few words after the meal. Perfect for parents, pastors, sponsors and the people who matter most.
  • Can I put the countdown on my own website?
Yes. Copy one line of embed code from your dashboard and a live countdown to your moment appears on any website, church site or blog, clicking straight through to your page.

Gifts, donations and money

  • How do gifts reach me?
Money goes straight to your own connected Stripe account. We never hold your funds or see card details. You connect Stripe once, in a few minutes.
  • What's a group chip-in?
Instead of lots of small gifts, guests fund one thing together, like a honeymoon or a special trip, and watch a progress thermometer fill up. You can also collect plain cash gifts or donations to a cause.
  • What is the wall of givers?
An optional public wall that thanks people by first name. It's off for each guest by default, only ever shows first names, and never shows amounts or private notes. Givers can take their name down themselves at any time.
  • Can I write thank-yous easily?
Yes. Every gift sits in one list with a ready-made thank-you you can copy, tweak and send.

On the day

  • How does check-in work?
Each guest has a QR pass. Scan it at the door, or tap a name on the list, and you get a live count of who is in. No extra app to install.
  • What is the welcome screen?
Point a tablet at the entrance and guests are greeted by name as they arrive, with a little confetti. It also shows a live feed of who has just arrived.
  • Can I show photos on a screen at the venue?
Yes. The live moment wall is a full-screen slideshow of guests' photos and messages, updating through the event.
  • Can I livestream the event?
Yes, and it’s built right in. LimeMoment Live lets you go live from your browser or phone in Camera Studio, with no OBS and no app to install, though OBS and hardware encoders work too. You stream in HD, up to 1080p, with camera flip, a live connection health check and a safety recording saved on your device. Guests watch on your page with no account, and it records itself so the replay is ready straight after. Livestreaming is on the Shine plan and up. See the pricing page.
  • Can I download the recording afterwards?
Yes. After the broadcast, the replay is kept on your moment page for guests to watch back: for 90 days on Shine, 12 months on Signature and for as long as your plan is active on Agency. To keep a permanent copy on any plan, use the Replay Centre to download a portable MP4 file that plays everywhere, made on demand when you ask for it. There's also the safety recording saved on the device you streamed from. Livestreaming is on the Shine plan and up.
  • Can guests chat and react during the livestream?
Yes. Under the broadcast, guests chat, tap quick reactions and see how many people are watching in real time, so the ones who couldn't travel still feel part of the day, all with no account. The reactions suit the occasion: warm and lively for a celebration, and gentle and dignified for a funeral or memorial, so nothing ever feels out of place. You stay in control: live chat is on by default with a one-tap kill switch, and you can hide any single message from the moment page while you're signed in.
  • Does livestreaming replace a videographer?
No, and it isn't meant to. LimeMoment Live is here to bring guests who can't be there into the moment as it happens, and to give everyone a convenient replay afterwards. For cinematic filming, professional lighting and sound and an edited keepsake film, an event videographer is still the way to go. Plenty of hosts use both, the videographer for the finished film, LimeMoment so far-away family can watch on the day.
  • Do I need a separate app or link to go live?
No. The whole thing happens on your own moment: the broadcast, the chat, the reactions and the replay. You don't send guests off to another video service, and there's nothing for them to download or sign up for.
  • Can guests leave a video or voice message?
Yes. Guests record a short video toast or a voice note straight from their phone, right on the page, with no app to download. It's perfect for anyone who can't make it or is too shy on the night. Recordings wait for your approval first.
  • Can guests request songs?
Yes. Event radio lets guests request songs and dedications for you to approve, and you can export the playlist to any music app.
  • Can guests watch the story of the person we're celebrating?
Yes. Build a timeline of milestones with photos and clips, and guests press play to watch it fullscreen, one chapter at a time, like a story made for your moment. It's wonderful for a 50th birthday, a retirement or a celebration of life.

After the day

  • What's the surprise video film?
Through the day, guests record short video toasts right on your page. The day after your moment ends, we automatically stitch every approved message into one film and email you when it's ready to watch, download and share. Imagine pressing play and seeing your sister in Liverpool, your oldest school friend and the whole church choir, one after another.
  • What's in the memory book?
Everything worth keeping: a cover, an AI-written foreword you can edit, the story timeline, every guest message, the photos and the award winners. Print it from the browser or download it as a proper PDF in one click.
  • What's the celebration newspaper?
A keepsake front page called The Celebration Times: your story as the lead article, guest quotes set in columns, the award winners, a strip of photos and a "by the numbers" box from the day. It downloads as a PDF that prints beautifully, ready to frame or hand round.
  • What can the time capsule do?
Plenty. Guests seal messages that stay hidden until your chosen date (or midnight after the event if you don't pick one). You can run a capsule per circle, family, church, school friends, add prediction questions like "What will I be doing at 60?" and even tick a box so the messages stay secret from you too. When it opens, everything is revealed together.
  • Can AI write my thank-yous?
Better than that, it personalises them. Write one thank-you and switch on personalise: every guest gets their own version, mentioning how they know you and the town they travelled from. "Thank you for coming all the way from Lagos" lands rather differently to a round-robin.
  • What are memory collections?
After the day, the assistant reads your approved guest messages and gathers them into themed collections, like school days, church family and work friends. Your recap page then reads like chapters of your life rather than one long list.

Privacy, data and consent

  • Who can see my moment?
You choose: public with the link, password protected, or private while you build. You can also control what each section shows.
  • How do you handle personal data?
We collect only what we need and ask for consent before anything is shown publicly. Guests can remove their own reply, and you can export or delete an event’s data. See our privacy policy for the detail.
  • Do you set tracking cookies?
Not until you agree. No non-essential cookies or analytics run until a visitor consents, and the choice is reversible any time from the cookie policy.
  • Will photos appear without permission?
No. Photos and messages wait for your approval, and guests confirm everyone pictured is happy before a photo is shared.

Accessibility

  • Is LimeMoment accessible?
Yes, that’s a core part of it. Pages are built to WCAG 2.2 AA, work with a keyboard and screen reader, and respect reduced motion. See our accessibility statement for what conforms and how to report a problem.
  • Can guests read it their way?
Yes. Reader support on every page includes high contrast, larger text, dark mode and read aloud. Guests can also switch your page into their own language, or turn on plain English, which rewrites the page in shorter, simpler wording. Plain English and translation are AI features, on the Glow plan and up.
